Evaluation and Risk Factors in the Ocular Behcet’s Disease.

Abstract: Porpose: To determine the risk factors in the prognosis and the visual outcome of the disease. Methods: This is a retrospective study of 361 patients, having Behcet’s disease and treated by immunosuppressives and steroids, followed-up at Shariatti Hospital (mean duration of follow-up was 2.27 years). The ocular examinations at the first and last visit are recorded and compared. Conclusion: Vasculitis was the major cause of blindness and was more frequent in the male populations. Intensive treatment should be undertaken early in the course of the disease.
